Error during installation of WebsydianExpress

Symptoms

Installing WebsydianExpress generates any of the following errors:

Resolution

You do not have sufficient Windows privileges to install WebsydianExpress

  1. Log off, then log back into the computer as Administrator.
  2. Try the WebsydianExpress installation again.

You must clear out the Installshield folder and the Windows Temp folders

  1. Double-click My Computer.
  2. Open Local Disk (C:) then double-click the Program Files folder.
  3. Open the Common Files folder, then delete the Installshield folder.
  4. Go back into the Program Files folder, then open the Installshield Installation Information folder.
  5. When you find a folder whose name has 9918A as the last five characters, delete it.
  6. Close all Web pages and programs.
  7. From the desktop, select Start > Run.
  8. In the Open field, enter %temp% and click OK.
  9. Delete all the files in this temp folder and reinstall WebsydianExpress.

You may need to disable Startup items and Services prior to running the WebsydianExpress installation

  1. From the desktop, select Start > Run.
  2. In the Open field, enter msconfig and click OK.
  3. Click the Startup tab.
  4. Uncheck all the items that appear and click Apply.
  5. Click the Services tab.
  6. Insert a checkmark in the Hide Microsoft Services checkbox.  This hides most services.
  7. Uncheck the remaining services and click OK
  8. Restart the computer.
  9. When the restart is complete, try the WebsydianExpress installation again.
  10. To enable all the startup items that were disabled, go to the desktop and select Start > Run.
  11. In the Open field, enter msconfig and click OK.
  12. Select Normal Startup and click OK.
  13. Restart the computer.
