Error during installation of WebsydianExpress
Symptoms
Installing WebsydianExpress generates any of the following
errors:
- -5003...an error has occurred while running setup. Please
make sure you have finished any previous setup and closed other
applications...
- -5004 08x007005...
- -5006...an error has occurred while running setup. Please
make sure you have finished any previous setup and closed other
applications...
- -5009...an error has occurred while running setup. Please
make sure you have finished any previous setup and closed other
applications...
- -5011...an error has occurred while running setup. Please
make sure you have finished any previous setup and closed other
applications...
- -5006 0x8000fff an error has occurred while running
setup. Please make sure you have finished any previous setup
and closed other applications...
Causes
- You do not have sufficient Windows privileges to install
WebsydianExpress
- You must clear out the Installshield folder and the Windows
Temp folders
- You may need to disable Startup items and Services prior to
running the WebsydianExpress installation
Resolution
You do not have sufficient Windows privileges to install
WebsydianExpress
- Log off, then log back into the computer as Administrator.
- Try the WebsydianExpress installation again.
You must clear out the Installshield folder and the Windows
Temp folders
- Double-click My Computer.
- Open Local Disk (C:) then double-click the
Program Files folder.
- Open the Common Files folder, then delete the
Installshield folder.
- Go back into the Program Files folder, then open
the Installshield Installation Information
folder.
- When you find a folder whose name has 9918A as
the last five characters, delete it.
- Close all Web pages and programs.
- From the desktop, select Start > Run.
- In the Open field, enter %temp% and
click OK.
- Delete all the files in this temp folder and reinstall
WebsydianExpress.
You may need to disable Startup items and Services prior to
running the WebsydianExpress installation
- From the desktop, select Start > Run.
- In the Open field, enter msconfig
and click OK.
- Click the Startup tab.
- Uncheck all the items that appear and click
Apply.
- Click the Services tab.
- Insert a checkmark in the Hide Microsoft Services
checkbox. This hides most services.
- Uncheck the remaining services and click
OK.
- Restart the computer.
- When the restart is complete, try the WebsydianExpress
installation again.
- To enable all the startup items that were disabled, go to the
desktop and select Start > Run.
- In the Open field, enter msconfig
and click OK.
- Select Normal Startup and click
OK.
- Restart the computer.
